We have all done it before, woken up at midnight desperate for a drink or bite to eat and dreaded the thought of having to get out of bed to grab one, hopeful that somehow, someway that drink (or sandwich) will grow some legs and make its own way over to you without you having to lift a finger…. But then you remember something excitedly, you have a robot! So you sit up, call him over and low and behold your own personal robot has filled up a glass of water, cut up a chicken sandwich, and brought it over to you. No fuss, no effort ….. Well, that’s the dream anyway…
On Friday the 18th of August the UNO team set out for the afternoon exploring Saturday in Design. We began in Richmond, stopping by Fonda for some Mexican before heading into the city to explore. We visited Poliform, Euroluce, Space, Herman Miller and the New Age Veneers exhibit which you see in our interior retail projects. Here are a few highlights from the afternoon.

The annual Two Heads summit took place in the edgy Mitte district of Berlin, with the impressive Münzsalon our head quarters for the last week of October. Guest speaker Harald Welzer, director of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Memory Research in Essen delivered his perspective on transformation, centered on the social and cultural impact of change in design. This was followed by a free flowing discussion with Two Heads members contributing their culturally diverse thoughts and opinions on how design can influence change.

The team at UNO were delighted to be involved with the launch, working closely with the marketing team at The Laminex Group to create a series of Hand Sculptures that brought the new textures and decor to life.
